The Good
Not only do we get to help our clients look good, but we get to know them through our work on a personal level. Being involved with our clients helps us to understand their perspective, needs, target market and goals. Whether they are thousands of miles away, or located in the Lewis Clark Valley, we tactfully ask the right questions and listen to our client. What’s that? Yes, we listen. Pretty crazy in this day and age. Everyone is running a million…

Check out our new window display and our amazing client, Clearwater Canyon Cellars! We developed their website, photographed wine bottles and designed graphics for promotional materials.
Stop by our office and a furry face might just greet (or lick) you. That’s because we have not one, but two office dogs! We believe that having a dog around can boost morale and lower stress, and now studies have proven our point. However, we didn’t need a study to tell us that! Our two dogs are well behaved, friendly and love being around people. It really is a win-win situation. Taking a few minutes to pet them can allow time for the brain to refocus, and in return they love the attention! Plus, the dogs are much…
Read MoreIt is said that all good things must come to an end, and so is the case with my summer internship at Northwest Media. After working 14 weeks and over 350 hours at this creative juggernaut of a business, the time has come for me to return to Pullman and the great Washington State University. My internship has produced a collection of unforgettable moments, and I would like to share few of these memories:
I’ve been with Northwest Media for two months and I am now a fully functioning member of the team. I can enthusiastically say I still look forward to coming to work everyday and have only grown to love my co-workers even more! I have learned many new skills from everyone at this company, but perhaps the skill that has transformed most is my way of thinking.
Jenny, Michelle, Patrick and Sarah all have a unique perspective that is specific to their field of expertise. As I work on projects with them, I am beginning to think in a similar manner….
Read MoreAhh, the glamorous life of an intern, where shall I begin? I’m off to a great start with the team at Northwest Media. So far in my four weeks, every day at the office has been different and I’ve loved every minute of it. I often field the question, “How are you liking it?” My answer varies, but all of my responses attempt to describe how much fun I’m having, what great experience I’m gaining and how much I enjoy the people I work with. The follow-up question is much more difficult, “What do you do?” Well ladies and…
Read MoreMany times clients ask us to send their logo to a printer in a ‘vector’ format. Or, we request a clients’ existing logo only to receive a rasterized file format that limits the possibilities of design.
The definition of a vector graphic, according to Wikipedia : “Vector graphics files store the lines, shapes and colors that make up an image as mathematical formulae.” They are also known as EPS files.
We use an amazing little vector graphic program called Adobe Illustrator to create images and graphics for our clients. This smart program uses a mathematical formula to construct the image you…

We’re excited to have Elise Rooney in our office as a summer intern! This fall, she will be a junior at Washington State University (she’s a huge Coug fan…goes to nearly every football and basketball game). She’s working towards a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising. She’s the daughter of Dr. Michael and Judy Rooney and is a Clarkston High School alum.
Elise is smart (been on the President’s Honor Roll since her Freshman year), is a creative thinker and talented writer/editor. She’ll…
Read MoreFirst off, what the heck is SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, but believe me, there is more to it than just optimization. SEO is the process of getting traffic from “free” or “organic” listings on search engines through optimizing various elements of your website. Why does this matter?
Let’s crunch some numbers,
95% of traffic comes from the first page of search results
8.7% of traffic comes from the second page of search results
1.7% of traffic comes from page three onwards
Those are some pretty impressive statistics (source). Where does…

A question I get asked frequently by our clients is how to set up their email account. This post is here to serve as a guide and reference to help you setup your bluehost email account in any client.
First, the email accounts we typically deal with are POP3. POP3 is an email protocol that is used when people want to have a copy of their email messages, along with any attachments, downloaded to their computer to view. This type of mail protocol is recommended for users who…

Beer, wine, perfume, tea, energy drinks, butter, cheese, granola – lots of pretty packages. We have noticed a new design trend with an emphasis on typography.

DID YOU KNOW? If your school uses a contract photographer, you don’t have to use them for your yearbook photo. That’s right, you can hire a professional photographer to create what you want.
1. Get acquainted with your photographer. The first thing that you should look for in a photographer is how well they listen. If your photographer does not listen, they cannot deliver what you want. In the initial consultation, we want to hear about you. What do you like to do, what type of…
Read MoreWhen starting a business, a logo is one of the first things you should consider. Even more importantly, consider who is going to design your logo.
A well-designed logo can have a huge impact on how people perceive your business. Is your business personality fun, professional, eclectic, techie? A great logo design is infused with your business philosophy and tells a story about who you are.
Your logo can affect all of your subsequent marketing and promotional pieces. Websites, brochures and ads will utilize your logo and should complement the feel and colors. If your logo doesn’t look like it was…
